Mahir Duman is a visual artist and VJ based in Berlin, presenting live performances, interactive installations, and projection mapping in various European countries, especially for concerts, music- and art festivals, clubs, and art galleries.
He was born in Ordu, Turkey, and lived in Istanbul for many years. In 2011 he moved to Berlin and expanded his life and work as an artist.
Duman studied Industrial Engineering at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey, and Digital Film & Visual Effects at the SAE Institute in Berlin, Germany.
He produces videos, short films, music clips, and lots of other media sets, mixed and synchronized with sound and the rhythm of action. He describes his imagery as unrealistic and surreal, that question human perception and the interplay between subjects.
Mahir defines music as the scenario of a visual show and aims to create a new perspective, a relationship between humanity and the universe, to reach the human subconscious and feelings by playing light, color, and images.
He believes that art enables us to find and lose ourselves simultaneously and inspires people’s awareness of unconscious and conscious states of life.

Mahir Duman ist ein in Berlin lebender visueller Künstler und VJ.
Er präsentiert europaweite Live-Auftritte, interaktive Installationen, und Projektionsmapping für Konzerte, Musik-und Kunstfestivals, Clubs und Kunstgalerien.

Geboren wurde er im türkischen Ordu, und lebte viele Jahre in Istanbul. 2011 zog er nach Berlin und erweiterte dort sein Leben und Wirken als Künstler.
Er hat Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen an der Yıldız TU in Istanbul studiert, später folgte das Studium Digitaler Film und Visuelle Effekte am SAE Institut Berlin.
Mahir produziert Videos, Kurzfilme, Musikclips und andere Mediensets gemischt und synchron mit Klang und Handlungsrhythmus.
Er selbst beschreibt seine Arbeiten als unrealistische und surreale Bilder, welche die menschliche Wahrnehmung und das Wechselspiel von Subjekten in Frage stellen.

Er definiert Musik als das Szenario einer Visual-Show mit dem Ziel, eine neue Perspektive zu kreieren, eine Beziehung zwischen Menschheit und Universum, das menschliche Unterbewusstsein und Gefühle durch das Spiel mit Licht, Farbe und Bild zu erreichen.
Duman glaubt daran, dass Kunst ermöglicht, uns zu finden und gleichzeitig zu verlieren, und die Wahrnehmung bewusster und unbewusster Lebenszustände zu inspirieren
